JOSHUA BURNSIDE
“Joshua Burnside is the best songwriter in Ireland right now, and probably beyond”
– Phil Taggart, Sirius XM
Joshua Burnside is an experimental folk songwriter, singer and producer. He takes influence from alternative electronica and Irish folk, chopping and blending them with a mixture of found sounds, world music and unorthodox production methods. His third album, Teeth Of Time, sits comfortably and confrontationally between the alt-folk realms of Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens while retaining the indie singer-songwriter and traditional folk elements of Josh’s signature songwriting.

LOREL
Easygoing folk songs from the UK coast. Almost entirely self-produced in our bedroom in Folkestone, Kent, our debut album Idle is contemplative, sometimes creaky – played over squeaky floorboards & screaming seagulls. It stares at damp sand, breeze-worn trees, rainy but hopeful winters – at brighter futures. On release week in August 2024, the album was chosen to be the Album Spotlight on BBC Introducing and multiple songs have received good airtime🕺. As well as being played on a number of local radio stations, we’ve been featured in numerous tastemaker playlists on Spotify – having now received more than 30,000 streams in the first few months of release. Described by BBC Kent’s Abbie McCarthy (and a number of other people, incidentally) as being “like a warm hug” and “one of my favourite albums of the year”.
