Off the back of a stint opening for indie rock royalty The Libertines, local booze hound Will Varley takes a break from propping up The Lighthouse bar and returns this Christmas for his semi-regular festive knees up.

Having spent most of the last year working on his upcoming new album and also writing and producing for the likes of Counting Crows, Eagle Eye Cherry, Billy Bragg and Bastille – this is a rare chance to catch a solo show from one the country’s most revered singer-songwriters on home turf. Expect Tesco mince pies, songs aplenty and the usual Christmas themed shenanigans …

+ support TBA.

BROOKE LAW

Brooke has enjoyed a successful 2024. She has performed at various festivals with her band. These include C2C Festival at the o2 as well as The Long Road, Black Deer and Live Stock festivals. She also gigs regularly on the London circuit (Omeara, Brixton Blues Kitchen, Slaughtered Lamb etc). She gets regular radio coverage via e.g. BBC, Absolute Radio, Country Line Radio & TV, London Live TV and others as well as regular mentions in the music press.

Her releases are attracting new followers at each turn and her writing and performances came to the attention of the Texas based Buddy Holly Songwriters Retreat to which she was invited in September. The retreat is a gathering of songwriters brought together to jointly create new songs and to share each others’ thoughts on their profession. The event is curated by two time Grammy Award winning and ACM nominee Beth Nielsen Chapman. Brooke also performed at Bush Hall presented by AEG for a songwriters circle in October.

JACK BOWDEN

Jack Bowden is a singer-songwriter from South East Kent. He has a gift for word play and his (often humorous) songs give a cheeky and heartfelt insight into nightlife and modern romance. He’ll be sure to keep you smiling throughout his set.
