Welcome to ‘The Chanson Sessions’ –  an evening of music celebrating the work of female singers and songwriters.

Please note: A slight change to the originally advertised line-up as Lilia is not able to perform due to being unwell. Get well soon Lilia!

Thankfully we have the brilliant Jack Bowden stepping in to play.

POGGY HATTON

Poggy mixes elements of jazz, world and folk to create a kaleidoscopic journey through song.

JACK BOWDEN

Jack Bowden is a Singer Songwriter from Southeast Kent. His songs often contain humour and surround night life and modern romance among other topics. Jacks passion for lyric writing is very obvious throughout all of his songs, his ability to play with words in a unique yet reachable way is at the forefront of his music.

When performing live; he is equipped with a nylon string guitar that gives an almost Spanish feel to the set and an energy level that is unmatched. Cheeky yet heartfelt, you’ll be smiling throughout.

MIMI O’HALLORAN

Mimi O’Halloran has been a stalwart presence in the Kent scene for longer than her years would suggest. A shining talent since she was a teen, but one who has very clearly put good time into her craft – the results are truly formidable. In seeing Mimi perform you are at once melted and exhilarated, as her voice floats and soothes one moment and then stings like a righteous assassin the next.

Her songwriting is arresting, certainly in the folk canon of storytelling, but with a heady influence of jazz melody and movement. She’s charming and funny between songs too – which has the delightful effect of refreshing the moment, like a palate cleanser between courses. And each course is transportative – you’re drawn into a world of smokey skullduggery, and then hit jarringly and deliciously with the timeless concept of vulnerable love. It feels like she’s just singing to you too, which is very cool.

MADDIE BROAD

Sussex born singer songwriter Maddie Broad brings an arresting purity of voice and contemplative lyrical content that resonates long after the music ends. Influenced by folk and soul, from the school of Joni Mitchell and with a twist of Rickie-Lee Jones.
