Internationally recognised as a saxophonist and composer, Iain Ballamy has been described as ‘urbane, original, melodic, freethinking and uncompromising’. His work is contemporary, with both strong jazz and classical reference. A giant on the jazz scene, Ballamy has also written soundtracks for films and was the first jazz musician to receive the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Composer’s Award.

He is listed in the BBC’s publication ‘100 Jazz Greats’ between Count Basie and Chet Baker! He’s joined by Huw Warren on keyboards and Yuri Golubev, bass.
