Running since 2022, our monthly poetry open mic has become a welcoming space for words in all their forms.

Read your own poems. Share a favourite. Funny, furious, tender, political – if it moves you, it belongs here. Or simply come along, settle in with a drink from the Lighthouse bar, and discover new voices and old classics in a room that listens.

The night was founded and hosted by Phil Welton, who has now handed the mic to our new host Peter Webb.

In December 2025 we released the ‘From The Lighthouse’ poetry anthology, featuring the work of 39 poets from our community. Copies are available behind the bar, with proceeds supporting the RedDuck Campaign – a more than worthy cause.

Anyone is welcome to speak.

To take part, simply introduce yourself to the host shortly before the 7pm start time.
