The trio AGENT FLIPPER creates their own surfing gospel that doesn’t shy away from Western melodies or Eastern sounds.

Tez began as the alias, for the musical expression and outlet of multi-instrumentalist artist, and producer Owen Mellett from Sandwich, Kent.

Playing guitar from a young age, Owen became involved in several musical projects, went on to achieve qualifications in music technology and worked greatly within live sound to strengthen musical skills and network. With a newfound drive for creative expression, Owen began focusing primarily on his own musical workings, birthing the sound of Tez from his bedroom studio in the small village he grew up in with his genre-spanning sound has been described as “ambient, and dreamy.” 

In early 2023, the bedroom sound evolved further, becoming the indie quartet it is today. Between them Joe Martin, Oscar Saunders, Dan Hughes and Owen Mellett continue to transform the sound to new heights, marking an excited new era for the band.

The sound is heavily inspired by ambient jazz and indie music, from the likes of Palace, Ben Howard, Maribou State, Syd Arthur and Foals.
