“A true force of nature!” is how Guitar Club magazine calls him. Guitarist, singer and songwriter, class of ’81 from Sardinia, Francesco Piu is impossible to categorize and enclose in a single genre: his music is an explosive mix of blues, rock & soul that winks at Mediterranean music, with his feet firmly planted in the tradition of black music and his gaze wide open toward contamination.

Twenty years “on the road” with eight albums to his credit and thousands of concerts between festivals, theatres and clubs in Italy, Europe and overseas bets in Canada and the USA where he represented Italy at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

The stage has always been his natural habitat where he experiences prestigious openings from John Mayall to Johnny Winter, from Jimmie Vaughan to Joe Bonamassa and exciting duets with some of his reference artists including Tommy Emmanuel, Roy Rogers and Eric Bibb, who is also the artistic producer of “Ma-moo tones,” the Sardinian artist’s 2012 album.

After his last two works, “Crossing” and “Live in France,” in which he reaffirms his eclecticism within the framework of a blues that avowedly looks to the future, he is ready to tread the stages in his various formulas, from the one- man-band dimension to the full band with DJ and percussions.
