A pioneering voice of the British folk revival, Bridget St. John was discovered by John Peel in the late 1960s and became one of the defining artists of his Dandelion Records label. Renowned for her intimate vocals, intricate guitar work and poetic songwriting, she shared stages with Nick Drake, David Bowie and Fairport Convention. Her cult status and influence have only grown over the decades, with new recordings and collaborations continuing to introduce her timeless music to new generations.

Bridget St. John is one of the most distinctive and influential voices to emerge from the British folk revival. Discovered by John Peel in the late 1960s, she signed to his Dandelion Records label, releasing three acclaimed albums: Ask Me No Questions (1969), Songs for the Gentle Man (1971) and Thank You For… (1972), followed by Jumblequeen (1974) on Chrysalis.

Renowned for her intimate, husky vocals, intricate guitar work and poetic songwriting, St. John became a cult favourite whose influence has only grown with time. She shared stages with the likes of Nick Drake, David Bowie and Fairport Convention, while counting John Martyn and Michael Chapman among her musical mentors.

After relocating to New York in 1976, she performed at Carnegie Hall and celebrated Greenwich Village venues, continuing to record and develop her distinctive sound. Her early albums have since been reissued to widespread acclaim, introducing her timeless music to new generations of listeners.

Far from resting on her legacy, Bridget remains an active and adventurous artist, collaborating with contemporary musicians including Steve Gunn, Will Sheff and Emma Tricca. Her 2025 vinyl release Covering My Brothers was followed by work on a new album, co-produced with Steve Gunn and scheduled for spring 2027.

A rare opportunity to experience a true pioneer of British folk, whose remarkable voice and understated artistry remain as captivating as ever.
