Formed in 1976, punk legends Chelsea play The Lighthouse in Deal, Kent in September for the final leg of their 2023 Evacuate tour.  Chelsea tour Europe this summer and finishes off the year playing songs from their 1982 album Evacuate which reached number one in the UK indie charts and spawned the top 20 singles Evacuate and War Across The Nation.  Chelsea will also play some of their other anthems including ‘Urban Kids’, ‘No One’s Coming Outside’, ‘I’m On Fire’ and the debut single, punk classic ‘Right To Work’.

Fronted by lead singer Gene October, Chelsea have been playing live for 47 years and recorded 12 studio albums.  Their latest albums ‘Meanwhile Gardens’ and ‘Evacuate – Revisited’ were recorded last year with long-time members, guitarist Nic Austin and bassist Mat Sargent, completing the line-up with lead guitarist Rob Miller who played on The Alternative and Traitors Gate albums in the early 90’s and Steve Grainger on drums.  One of the last original punk bands around, Chelsea still packs a punch and are one of the best UK punk live acts with the energy and spirit of 1976.

Plus support from The Long Knives.

The Long Knives draw influence from 70’s punk, 80’s hardcore and 90’s alternative rock. Song subjects include trench warfare, extensive record collections, the crimes of Charles Manson and the plight of Native Americans. For fans of The Replacements, Public Image Limited, Wire and Husker Du.
