Pub open from 12pm – Live music from 6pm

Join us for the ‘Sunday Service’ live music session featuring Falle Nioke with support from Poggy.

Falle Nioke is a singer & percussionist from Guinea Conakry, West Africa. He sings in French, English, Susu, Fulani, Malinke & Coniagui, & plays a range of cultural African instruments to accompany his voice (gongoma, Bolon, Cassi).

Last year’s Youkounkoun EP was made with Ghost Culture; the latest, Marasi, with Swedish producer sir Was (who has released music on City Slang and Memphis Industries). Based on an African proverb about the importance of a strong work ethic, lead single Rain is typical: Nioke’s deep voice offsetting the languorous, breezy pace of the traditional instrumentation, accentuated by restrained electronic touches. His beguiling sound has fast made him a regular feature on BBC Radio 6 Music.

Support comes from Poggy.

Original music written by Poggy. Beautiful songs uncovering her feelings and impressions of life seen through her eyes.
